Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #7!!

This week my Mom is the super special hostess!! I love that we share this love of papercrafting and we can do it together...and this week, we did!! She came to our house and stayed for a couple of days! We did lots of fun stuff, got some Christmas shopping done and we got to colour together! So fun!!

Anyhoooo, Mom decided that this week her challenge would be a theme challenge....Merry Christmas, Happy Winter!! Well, I know I'm waaay behind on my Christmas card makin'....aren't you? Well, if you're not behind and you've got your cards all done....well, I just don't wanna know ya!! hahahahaaaaaaa! No, if you'd rather, you can make a wintery card instead!

SO for my holiday card, I chose to use the ever so elegant, Holly! I used Bazzill cardstocks and some rich, glittery patterned paper from last year...I think it's from Sandylion. I stamped Holly on Neenah smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copic markers! You're shocked, I know!! The colours I used are: E000, E00, E50, E51, E53, BG96, R39 and R89. I sponged all around the main image using some chalk ink and a sponge dauber. I added some lovely shiny ribbon and a flourish of rhinestone bling! I attached a few layers of poinsettia flowers with some Basic Grey brads and added the sentiment at the bottom!

Now Holly is a special gal from the Moonlight Whispers line. Because not only does she come with a bonus holly accessory stamp, but she also comes with TWO sentiments....Holiday Wishes and Peace & Joy!!

Be sure to hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog and check out all the gorgeous designs that the Krafty Gals have to share! Then go ahead and make your own and you could win some yummy rubber goodness!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Challenge #6!!!

This week we have a challenge that will have you going round and round in circles!!! Haha! We'd like you to use CIRCLES on your card.....one, two or ten! We don't care how many, just make sure that circles are the main focus of your design!!

For my card, I chose to spotlight Clara in my round Nesties! I stamped her on Neenah smooth cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. I used E00, E42, E43, YG93, YG95, B52, B91, B93, B95, and B97. The fun winter papers I used are by Pebbles Inc. I made the 6x6 card base from Old Olive and accented with Blue Bayou and Not Quite Navy. I used my new Scallop Dot punch on the bottom of the middle strip and added some lovely green ribbon and tied it in a bow.

I was also sure to add some acetate to this card as that is this week's challenge at Crazy4Challenges!! The lovely, sparkly snowflakes are acetate, covered in glitter and I attached them with silver glitter brads. I pop dotted the main image and Bob's yer uncle...I'm done!!

Be sure to hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge blog and check out the Krafty Girls' amazing creations and then play with some circles yourself. If you do, be sure to link it up in the comment section of this week's post and if you upload it to an online gallery, be sure to use the keyword KKSC6, so we can all check 'em out!! Who knows....you could be a Krafty winner!

Have a super Saturday!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #5! - Stitch It Up!!

Today's post is a doubly fun one because my card meets two awesome challenges!!!

Firstly, today is our 5th challenge over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge blog and our hostess this week is talented gal, Niki Estes!! She has asked us to whip out our sewing machines....or our white gel pens if you wanna do some faux stitching....and Stitch It Up!!

ALSO, KKStamps is this month's featured sponsor over at the happenin' Crazy4Challenges challenge blog!!! Woohoo!! Their challenge this week is to make an easel card! I must admit, I'd never made one of these babies until Vicki told me about them! It was really quite easy and what a charming creation to give to someone!! It's like a little piece of art to display!!

So I decided to use my girl Charlotte and I coloured her up using the colours from this pretty My Mind's Eye paper. Sorry, I didn't keep track of the markers this time....shame on me. I stitched up the dp onto the orange cardstock (in case my sewing machine ate my paper, it wouldn't ruin the whole card if I just sew a piece of it...hehe.). I added a strip across the middle, some prima flowers with glitter brads and then attached the whole thing to the base. I sponged around the edge of Charlotte and matted her twice, then pop dotted her.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments on a die cut and attached it. Then did up a little button/linen thread bow combo to keep the main part of the card up for display!! Pretty, huh?

So there are two fun challenges for you to play with this week...stitching and an easel card and both challenges could win ya some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! Woohoo!!

Well, I'm off to work all day at the library today. Hope you have a better day than I will! *sigh*

Cute Card Thursday!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is proud to be this week's sponsor for the Cute Card Thursday challenge!! Woohoo!!

I have to admit that this was a toughie for me. The challenge this week is Primary Colours....which I'm not known to use very often. So I dug through my (copious amounts of) patterned paper and found this wonderful Cosmo Cricket paper which has all those colours in it!

I stamped Posy on Neenah white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copic markers. The colours I used are: E000, E00, R27, R29, E30, E31, G82, YG03, BG000, BG72, Y23 and Y26.

The cardstocks are Stampin' UP and Bazzill and the patterned papers are from the Early Bird line. I added some stitched grosgrain ribbon and attached some Prima flowers with red buttons and linen thread. I also attached a tag which I cut out with my Nesties and the sentiment is from the Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set!

A couple of the Krafty Girls have played along with the challenge too! Mom used Oliver and Elaine used Francesca!!

Be sure to hop over to the Cute Card Thursday blog and check out what their DT gals have made and then be sure to join in the challenge! You could be the random winner of some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!

Spreadin' the Love Blog Hop!!

Today I am taking part in a very important Blog Hop....to Spread the Love for Jaimie.

"On October 4
th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."

Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people care and are thinking of her. Please send your card to the address below:

Jaimie Cates
c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon, NH 03057

I designed this card for Jaimie with the most girlie, sparkly, pretty things I could think of! I think Antoinette looks so joyful and full of happiness and the colours are perfect for a little girl. I hope the glitter and sparkles and bows bring just a tiny smile to her face.

If you would like to start the hop from the beginning, head over to Katharina's blog. And when you are done here, you can hop over to my good pal, Cammy's blog! Then when you reach the end of the blog there will be a challenge. One that will make you feel so good inside and will send love and hugs to one very hurt little girl. I am so proud to be one of the sponsors of this challenge. When you get there, you can read all about Jaimie and all about the details of the challenge.

Love,
Kimmie
